• identification of the gemstone: natural diamond or natural treated diamond, or synthetic diamond or imitation
• classification of the diamonds according to their quality: in compliance with the international practice, the so called “commercial” diamonds are classified in the 4C system which takes into account the weight, clarity, colour and the quality of cutting/polishing
• recording the data necessary for identifying the gemstone (cutting/polishing shape, weight, size, proportions)
• preparing an inclusions’ plot - see more information
• preparing records of the results of instrumental measurements
• issue of the diamond identification certificate

If it is revealed that the tested gemstone is a natural treated diamond, or a synthetic diamond, or an imitation, an expert certificate is issued based on the recorded results of measurements.
